    itunes is a great help, thanks for suggesting it:)

    there’s actually a podcast from kyoto japanese language school, everything the teacher says is written in japanese (using either kanji, hiragana or katakana) in japanese using romanic letters and in english, plus the word spoken atm is highlighted

    Not quite. The Japanese use kanji(Chinese characters) to honor the Chinese. That is as I understand it. I forget the whole story, but you can google that easily though.

    If you’ve installed the dictionary, then right click and click on “Rikaichan”. It should work then, just hover your cursor over any characters.
